Now onto Vintage from Bling

2nd Edition:

Gnome for the Holidays

Today is the 2nd edition with me as a guest designer for Whimsy Stamps again this month.  On Monday was my 1st Edition. With the same stamp set in Glam.

So, here we go!!  As y'all are making your Halloween Cards and Fall Cards, I decided to switch it up and go for Christmas.  And Crissy Armstong has not let us down with her fabulous gnomes celebrating the holidays.

No printed paper was used in either of these cards.  OH, grab a cup of coffee, this is a long post...lol

Again, No pattern paper!  This card is a 3.5 x 6.  My first one. lol.  On this card, I used the Gingham Background Stamp, the other two Gnomes, another line stamp from Bendy Borders, I'm telling you it's a must-have.

And you know what?  I used the slimline die, connected rectangles.  If you look there are three sections to this die.  But in order to make my 3.5 x 6" Card, I only needed 2 sections and it was a perfect fit.  I just had to use my noodle.  I cut out the die.  Dissected the 3rd section I didn't need and cut away the piece I did need to add to my now 2 pieces die.  You can't even tell.  I pieced it back together and you can see where I stamped the stars and the sentiment.  Then I did the old fashion vintage ink up with distressed vintage photo and Twig something.  I used the new mini ink brushes from The Rabbit Hole.

Coloring the images...what fun!  Oh my, I use a deep teal which was BG 72, 75, 78, and that big bad scary color BV29. That color has teeth for sure.  Then the reds were R24, 29, 59.  The reds were easy and only needed one coat.  The teals went just like the Pink above.  The BV 29 was added after it dried. And a second coat starting with BG75, not 78 then 72.  When Dry they were distressed with vintage photo.
Now it has been so many years since I've done a vintage card I think I forgot how.  The little dudes are not grounded because we did not care about that 10 years ago.

What I like best about both cards is I made the matching backgrounds.  I didn't have to look for paper.  I actually do not have very much pattern paper at all.  Maybe 7 paper pads and 15 sheets of 12x12.  I was able to create both cards straight from Whimsy.
