A Stampendous Potted Mouse

Good Morning, Dorinda here with a little cutie from Stampendous.
So sweetly called

She's looking quite Cozy.

I really had fun making this one. The image was so fun to color.
After I colored her up, I realized the I could make an awesome flower just like here out of the Creative Basics Basic Pierced Oval.
So, I ended up incorporated the whole thing around the flower.
Using the two smallest dies from Basic Pierced Oval I attached the two with the tips toward the petal end. Then trimming a piece from Basic Background Builders I, I created the flower center.

Sentiment is from the Beary Mice Set
I've also used the large flag from Basic Stitched Flags to cut out my image.
I just love the way it edges my images

Copics Used:

Noor! Design and Passionate Paper Creations Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Noor Design UK''s First Blog Hop.  We are joined by the girls from Passionate Paper Creations so there will be lots of inspiration and ideas on how to use the LDRS Creative Basic dies along with products from the Noor Design UK Shop.

Hi everyone, This is Rhea!  We are having a lot of fun with Noor Designs!  I am so excited they carry the LDRS Creative Basics Die Line.  My team and Tracy's team are going to show you some amazing inspiration in this hop so grab your favorite beverage sit back and be prepare to be wowed!!!!

My card Base isDutch Card Art Stand-Up from Dutch Doodadoo
I have used all four of The Creative Basic Dies as well as LDRS Creative Dies Gilded Ovals and the Gilded Doily. All the links are below and can be found at Noor Designs Online Store!!!
My Image is courtesy of Conie Fong Art and Design, The Flowers are courtesy of I am Roses.

What I liked about this stencil that draws out your card shape is once you have it all cut out, you can fold it in different directions.  Are you ready to see the inside?
Here it is folded toward the back for a dimensional look.  It would be great out of chipboard then covered and made into a mixed media piece.

Here it is folded forward...not all the way because of the sentiment flag.  Again imagine doing it from
chipboard, covering it with papers...adding a fence across the front and creating a stunning shabby chic mixed media piece.  I might just do that!

Here are the links from Noor Designs and todays focus products!

I love Tulips!

Welcome to Passionate Paper Creations!  This is Rhea with Power Poppy Today sharing Tulips in a Hobnail Pitcher

This is a digital image which is enlarge to 200%.  It is now framed in black with a black and white matting and proudly hanging on my wall of framed Power Poppy florals.

What I wanted to share with you today is the foliage.  If you look at the depth of the foliage it was created using many different color of greens.  To make something look like it is in the distance it needs to be a little darker with more of a gray tone to it.  If you are using Copic Markers this means you want to move more to the center of the Copic Color Wheel.
I like to start with the shadows first or in this case what is in the background.
I started with YG61, 63 and 67 and colored the leaves that were behind the front leaves.
Next, In the deepest shadow areas I added G94 and 99 as these have more gray tones to them.
Now I moved to the leaves that were in the front.  I used YG25, 17 with the highlight yellowish color being YG 21.  With these colors being more vibrant and lighter it helped bring them forward.

Now for the Tulips!  There are several colors used here ones you can't imagine using together.
RV52, 63, 66, 69, V12, 15, 17, Y00....Say what!!!!  Yup that's right.  It's all done in layers in the order listed.  with Y00 last where I left white starting at the end and flicking into the violets and purples.
These colors blending so well together and I actually had no idea what the plan was as I was just playing.  I figured I could always start over.
Now back to G99 to add drop shadows under the leaves and flowers and blended a little with G94.

For the pitcher....Makenzie Child Pottery is one of my loves so I added the pattern and just went for it.  Although it isn't perfect I just don't care because it is art.  I used a multiline .08 in black to outline the black squares, A Spica to add dots of texture to the cream squares.  The final touches was adding a touch of color around the flowers and using V20 to ground the pitcher.

That's how you take a flat image and ad depth :)
