Altered with Resin Charms Travel Book

Hello, Rhea here to share a really fun project.  We've been playing with Nunn Designs and EnviroTex Jewelry Resin has been a lot of fun this week.  Doing vintage altered projects is one of my favorites.

Grab your EnviroTex Jewelry ResinNunn Designs bezels, Canvas, A little burlap and Stampendous SSC1121 Eiffel Tower SSC1167 Baggage Claim and SSC1166 Air Travel then the little Eiffel Tower from SSC1124 Charm Collection.  Now, let's get messy :)

First we are going to start with quick tip on the bezels.  Stamp the image with permanent WATERPROOF ink.  After you have stamped the image seal the image on both the front and back with glue (that will dry clear) or clear packing tape.  Make sure it is sealed super duper good or the paper will vanish and the ink will become blurry.  Ummm...I learned the hard way and did not do that with this project.  But I lucked out because it gave the bezels a more vintage look.

Add your fragments and elements and don't forget the glass glitter and micro glitter.  Follow the instruction for mixing and pouring the EnviroTex Jewelry Resin.  It is so easy to use.  Hint - I found baby wipes to be the best for cleaning up.  Wax paper makes a great work surface and resin doesn't stick.

I used the following fragments and elements:

I mixed spritzes with copic refill ink and alcohol.  If you want a softer result use 99%.  For a brighter result use 70%.  For this project I used E50, B39, V08 and BG78  Let Dry

Airbrush flourish with coordinating colors.  I went 2 shades lighter that the spritz colors.  I used Dreamweavers Stencil, #LJ 896 Large Flourish.  Spritz again all over with E59 to tone down and blend flourish in a little.

Wrap the book.

Stamp the Eiffel Tower  first with cobalt archival ink.  Then randomly stamp images from Baggage Claim and  Air Travel.  Use coffee archival ink as well as the cobalt.

Trim burlap to fit book.  Spritz with E50 and B39.  Fray the front edge and rough it up a little.

Decorate your book.  I used a couple of the other stamps to create another charm and a resin ticket.

I hope you enjoyed reading about this book as much I enjoyed making it.  I also hope you are enjoying the great blog hop we have today.

Tea Light Jar with Resin Charm

Hello, glad you are here today.  I am really enjoying our week of Stampendous and Nunn Designs Bezels and EnviroTex Jewelry Resin.  Stampendous has so many images that are just perfect to combine with these products.

Here is a really easy Tea Light Jar.  The tea light completely changes the look due to the fibers in the paper and the embossing powder.  Velum would also look nice...if you embossed it in white the back light of the candle would make it look frosted.
Emboss your favorite leaf from Summer Leaves randomly all over paper.  Aged Ivory was used here.  Dab a little of embossing pad here and there and lightly sprinkle aged gold embossing powder and heat.
Stamp and emboss single leaf with aged gold fuzzy cut 3 of them.  Stamp and emboss small leaf cluster with aged ivory.
Cut leaf cluster to fit bezel.  Follow package instruction on EnviroTex Jewelry Resin.  Tie bow around lip of jar.  Add a little extra wire and curl the ends.  Shape leaves attach around bow.  Attach bezel with wire.

Be sure to leave comments on each blog because we have Resin AND Stamps AND Bezels to give away!! To see who's playing make sure to visit the Stampendous Blog and tomorrow is the BIG BLOG HOP!!!

Vintage Spellbinders

Happy Wednesday!  I didn't feel like coloring so I broke out my Spellbinders.  Playing with dies always relaxes me, it's not always easy, but it is always fun.

I was feeling a little vintage and as I was working with these 4 sets of dies I found myself thinking of an old circus wagon.  Seriously, is it just me or does this really look like an old circus wagon?  I have some seriously cool ideas going through my brain now with these dies.

Grab some dies, watch a good comedy or chick flick and see what inspirations you can come up with.

Embellishments!!!!

We are kicking off another fun filled Embellishments Challenge!  We sure hope you play along, because you can win a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids College Fund store.  There are a few simple rules so be sure to visit the challenge blog to check them out.
Prima has so many new and way cool embellishments called "Junkyard Findings"!!!  I used a few in this sweet tag with one of the Mixed Media Dolls.  She is colored with copic markers in BG11, BG32, BG52, BG 57 and BG09 her skin is E50, E21 and E3.  When coloring folds and pleats, take your time and do one small section at a time.  Look for the "HILLS" and "VALLEYS".  Hills being the lightest and valleys being the darkest.  I like to start with the hills first and then go to the valleys.

Thanks for visiting today and please, if you've found inspiration follow my blog :)  Happy Coloring!  Rhea.

Hard to see in the photo but, it looks like a ceramic tile.  I did back it with thick chip board.  The clay was rolled out to about 1/8 in. so it dried very fast. and is extremely light weight!  I love this product and will be using lots of it!!!
