No Better place to kick back with a glass of ice tea and a good book, than a gazebo.  You may look at it and think the paint is chipping and you need to take care of it.  But actually, it is part of it's charrm. And you would rather kick back and finish you novel anyway.  Or in my case benge watch Game Of Thrones!  This is a newer stamp from the Dove Art line from Whimsy Stamps.   Please click the links below and it will take you right to everything you need.

Sorry, I didn't keep track of my Colors...I was just doin my thing and having fun.

Crazy Friends

Do you have a few friends that, well, quite frankly are just a litte more serious than you may be?   Yeah, me too.  Out of the three of these three pinguins, which one do you think most represents me?
Go ahead tell me.  One of these three little dudes is deffinately more like me.  As a matter of fact, I am actually cracking up right now.

This awesome clear set is available at Whimsy and is so funny to me.

with Sympathy

This Dove Art Stamp from Whimsy Stamps gave me a sence of peace.  It was relaxing to color and I really enjoyed it.  I wanted to add an elusion of deminsion and depth perception. I look at and see the tree in the front for sure and as the foliage goes back it fades and the colors have more gray tones in them. What do you think?

Surprise.....How did I do this?

Isn't this interesting.  Maybe you are thinking did she stamp it?  Is that Distress oxides?  The answer to both are, Nope.

This is all done with copics!  Yes, It's true...and a little embossing powder.  Here is how you do it.
1.  Glossy paper, just air brush it like crazy!
2.  Let it dry completly, this is very important.
3.  Once it is dry, take your stamp or stencil as I used and versa mark.  Make sure to ink very heavy. and hold that stencil very tight as you go.  If you don't you'll be sorry.
4.  Heavy cover with clear embossing poweder.  You can dust it before hand.  I think I did, I can't remember.
5.  Gloss paper does not heat well.  Trust me!  It will bubble and pop.  So use a low setting and start under.  Who cares if you burn the backside.  Take your time.  Once you think you have it melted, now hit it from the front.  Yeah, you thought you had it melted right.  lol.
6.  Put 90% alcohol into a spritz bottle and really let that paper have it.  Let the ink run off onto a paper towel.
7.  Now with you air gun move the ink around, you can also do this at the same time you are spraying it for a really cool look.
8. Let it dry or speed it up with your compressor.
9,  ok, Your embosing area is now dull and you are like, say what!  No problem!! With your heat gun,  just add a little heat.  This will melt the embossing powder and all the shine will come right back.

Yup, I learned this just by playing around one day!  Experiment.  Wait, I don't think i learned it from anyone. (I want to put that in just in case as a disclosure)

Try it...It is so much fun and so easy.

Dahlia's oh my!

Hello Power Poppy Fans!  Today I bring you Dahlia XL Clear Stamp.  I do a lot of work with digital images yes.  But, I do love my stamps as I can still create a clean and simple layout by only using a portion of the stamp.

Once I have my layout, it is time to color.  I start with the background.  In this instance I used R00.  I used blender marker to create the circles.  I outlined them with the same marker to make them pop.
I moved to the flowers.  For this, I used R12, 32, 35 with a red and black multiliner, white polychrome pencil and a deep red polychrome pencil. When I was happy with the results I stamped the sentiment.

For the final touch,  I took a bottle of 100 Copic Refill and dropped 2 drops onto a palette.  I spritz my fan brush with blending solution until it was nice and juicy.  Dabbed it in the ink and gently tapped the brush to leave a little splatter.

It turned out to be a very nice clean and simple card!

I've Gone Dove Art Studios Crazy with all the new stamps released!

Just because something is rustic doesn't mean you have to make the project rustic.  It's all about the paper and the colors you use.

I may be coloring this one live in April, just to show you how easy it is and how fast it went.

New Dove Art Studios at Whimsy!

Yup, I'm back and creating!  Yippee.  The move was cray cray!  But it feels like home.  I have so many places to put bird feeders and will likely have these little chickadees.

I went online to get all the different styles of these birds.  Research is important.  The twig and berries are not part of the stamp, I created them with the chisel nib and the brush nib.  They do have high lights and shadows on the branches and berries.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!  Don't forget there is time to sign up for the whimsy retreat in Orlando where I will be teaching next month!  Oh, there are only just a few seats left.  Just click the whimsy link below.
