Yes, it is time to start our second challenge over at Make It Colourful. Make it Colourful is a FUN place where color addicts gather to learn as well as be challenged to take our skills to the next level.
I am so happy to return to the Make It Crafty Inspiration Team. It is nice to be challenged to and learning to techniques from such a talented group of Color Artist. You can learn as well just by joining us!

I started with a spare image and marking where I wanted the shadows with a gray marker. This helped me to visualize before moving on.
I find using W3 in the shadows of the skin ands more depth and contrast. I will sometimes blend it out with W1 then with E51 if needed.
I added the cheek color with R11 by doing tip to tip with E51. I shaded the color by adding E93 again with tip to tip with E51.
If you break it down in to small sections/steps like I've done here it isn't as intimidating. It makes it easier to visualize. You can also look at photos on the internet and study the contours and shadows which can be very helpful.
For the eyes, I again used my template above to practice and mark where I wanted highlights. I used mulitliner to add the details.
