Tori the Dragon

Welcome to Passionate Paper Creations & Friends!

Nancy here today with a project featuring an image by Conie Fong Art, the sponsor of the week over at the Passionate Paper Creation and Friends Facebook Group.

This image is Tori the Dragon Birthday Girl and I used
the Basic Stitched Flag Dies from Creative Basics.
I colored the image with Copic Markers.

When I first attempted to color this image, I did a basic blend of blues and blue greens, but the result was so blended that it was too smooth (duh!). So I started again, this time employing some pointillism enhanced by a white Sukura Gelly Roll pen to get both shading and texture.

My style tends to be clean and simple, but I wanted the layout of the card to reflect the quirkiness of both the image and the sentiment stamps. So I skewed the layers a little bit and tucked a stitched flag die cut in the bottom corner. For the inside, I repeated the off-kilter layout and added a couple more stitched flags.

And here is the inside of finished card!

Copics Used
B0000, B00, B01, B02, B04, B05, B06, BG10, Y02, Y15, Y19, V04, V06, V09, Sukura Gelly Roll Pen in white (dragon); BV00, BV01, BV04, RV10, RV52, RV55, RV63, RV66, Y02, Y15, Y19, YR09 (cupcake, heart, and flowers)

Thanks for stopping by! Hope my card provides some crafty inspiration!
