Countryside Bouquet - Power Poppy Stamps

Hello Friends!  The weather has been rough for our friends and family along the New England Coast this week.  We were fortunate to only get 6" of snow here in Central New York.  It just missed us!  The next storm is headed our way and we're looking for another 3-6".  Not going to be lucky enough to miss us this time.  Temps are horribly frigid and gloomy.  So I thought I would brighten my day by dreaming of springs and happy colors!  Hard to believe it's only 8 weeks away.

Here is Power Poppy Stamps - Countryside Bouquet Digital Stamp which you can find HERE.  Power Poppy Stamps has other wonderful digi florals and stamps as well.  Each month on the 15th there will be one new digital image released.  So stay tuned for whats coming on February 15th.

Since I was playing with a digital image I turned it into a garden scene by placing two of the same images next to each other.  One of the images I rotated to get the poppies.  I used a water brush filled with alcohol to "watercolor" with Copic the background.  Then dotted and blended the darker areas to add more depth.  With a piece of upholstery scrap I dampened with 99% alcohol and added the texture to the background.  A little airbrushing to the sky and more texturing.  NOTE:  if you are going to be texturing with cloth and alcohol it is important to do these areas prior to coloring any part of the image.  This will prevent you from accidentally adding texture where you don't want it.

Oh, Rhea, this is gorgeous! Your coloring is always amazing, and I love the tip about the background with the water brush filled with alcohol (and texturing before you color the image too). Warm hugs and hope the weather turns better!

Thanks for explaining how you did the background.

Stay warm and safe. In other words, stay inside!

One word Rhea -- INCREDIBLE! I am absolutely over the top amazed at the depth you have in this single image and using a waterbrush filled with alcohol to "brush on" a background??? Never heard of that -- let alone seen the gorgeous results! OH MY! Stunning!

I really love this! This is one of my favorite digi stamps, and I color it often. I'm going to try a darker background next time because your coloring looks incredible :D
