Have A Beary Merry Christmas - Mo Manning - with a tips on using different alcohols!!!

Happy Everything!  Wow, a few more sleeps and it will be Christmas!!!  This will be my final post for this year as I take a much needed vacation with my family and friends in sunshine and warmth of Arizona!  Then it is off to California for CHA Trade Show!  I will be working with Angie Hunt owner of Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.   Come see me in booth #2500!!!  I will be coloring all through the show!

I saw my friend Alexandria color up this adorable Mo Manning image for the Dream Team and just had to create my version too!  How sweet is this face and this little bear!  Of course I wasn't about to use traditional reds and greens...haha.  This years holiday color themes have been teals and purples which are my favorites.

The fuzzy little bear and fuzz on the hat were created with dots and scribbles (colors listed below).  Then I used Ethyl Alcohol to lightly texture with a cloth.  What's the difference between Isopropyl and Ethyl Alcohol?  Ethyl is a natural plant based alcohol and is the same used in blending solution where as Isopropyl is man made alcohol.  When you use Isopropyl it reacts and separates the colors of the inks.  Ethyl does not.   For example,  If you were to use a BV and Isopropyl your ink would separate and you would see blues and reds.  BG, you would see blues and greens.  The Ethyl doesn't cause the separation because you are not getting a chemical reaction against your markers.  Ethyl at 70% gives a fine and soft texture.  Where the Isopropyl gives a more defined texture by pushing the ink and separating it.

Don't get me wrong, I like using both because they create different looks and textures.  I also love my blending solution.

Be on the lookout for a really cool tutorial on this...just as soon as I get back from vacation!!!
