Violets

Hello, Rhea here today to share a fun copic technique my dear friend and amazing Copic Instructor, Jennifer Dove taught me. It has become one of my go to techniques when I want a "Water Color" look or I don't have a lot of time to spend coloring.

I have a complete step out on how to make this card in a new tab "Stampendous Tutorials".  They have asked me to do a weekly tutorial for them...how exciting is this!  So, I thought it would be easier to have the full collection in it's own dedicated page.  So jump over to Stampendous Tutorials tab at the top of the page to learn all the details :)  I also have all the links for your shopping list too.

See you next week with another Stampednous Tutorial!!!

Thanks for visiting and I would love to read you comments!  I would also love to have you become a follower of my blog!  Happy designing :)  Rhea

Rose Fairy

It's time for another challenge at

Are you ready to play along with us?  Our challenge is...
Anything Goes!

We are kicking off our new fun filled and easy challenge and we hope you play along!  You can win a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids College Fund store.

For this challenge Anything Goes!!!  No matter how you design it counts as long as you use an image that 7 Kids College Fund carries :)  I hope you play along with us!

Here is my inspiration for this challenge :)  It's a combination of soft pinks and greens with warm garnet and a lot of embossing.  I embossed the image with clear bark but first added a little ultra fine gold glitter to give it a little twinkle.   For her wings I used clear embossing powder mixed with pink and gold glitter.  I love the effect it gave even though it is hard to see in the photo.

I did a "color wash" or a "dry brush" on the image with distress ink and eye shadow applicators.  No water was used...Fairies are alergic to water, it makes them swell up and turn green with purple dots...so not attractive! No fairies were hurt making this design.

I hope you enjoyed this little fairy.  Crafters Companion has a wonderful series of fairies. The sets are amazing because not only are there several images in your set, but you get the main image in a smaller and larger size!  They are perfect for coloring with your copics too.

Thanks for stopping by and happy creating :)  See you next Wednesday at 7 Kids College Fund!  Rhea

Now, lets do some shopping!

Tim Holtz Blog Hop

Welcome to the 7 KIDS blog hop! This month, we are featuring Tim Holtz Idea-ology products. These little (and large) trinkets are SO SWEET and can be used as card and scrapbook embellishments, as well as elements in 3-dimensional projects such as cigar boxes, frames, shadow boxes, trinket boxes, etc. The possibilities are endless!
Here I took an old cigar box and air brushed it with copics to make it look really old.  Then I added the wood grain paper to the back.  I used umbrella man die cut and honey pop paper to give the umbrella dimension (got this idea straight from Tim himself!)  I used one of Stampers Anonymous Swirls and embossed it with gold all over the inside and out side of the box.  Next I just started adding all the trinkets and buttons.  I died some of his ribbon with distress stain to add some color pop and there you have it.  Altering books and boxes is such a fun way to just escape and do something totally different.

I hope you found some inspiration from this project and leave a comment because you never know if there is a prize hiding on my blog.  I would also love, love love it if you became a follower!  I will follow your blog as well.  Hugs, Rhea

Oh, and don't forget to keep hopping onto each of my team mates!!!!  So hop on over to my other teamies playing along!

Don't forget to leave a comment on each blog you visit!!!  We are going to be giving away a wonderful prize that is hiding in one of our blogs!!!!
Here is what you could win....

You can find all of the wonderful Tim Holtz Products at 7 Kids College Fund!!!!!

Make It Crafty Fairy Celandine

Today I am here bring you a a little fairy inspiration.  Fairy Celandine from Make It Crafty is so versatile.  Here I have chosen to design her into a woodland fairy with woodgrain paper and dark warm colors.

I only worked with a few colors combos. I wanted to keep her very warm with as much contrast as possible.  To achieve the highest contract I used Prisma Pencil in Darkest Brown and White.  The darkest brown was used to outline the dark areas.  The white was used to soften and blend the white areas left while coloring.

To accomplish the wings I used the same colors but I did tip blending with the blending pen using the lightest of the below combos.  Adding just a little more where needed for shading.  Finished with glitter...don't all fairy wings glitter and sparkle?

Here are the colors :)
Skin - E50, 51 and 53 with BV20
Dress - E04, R56 and R59
Browns and Hair - all of the E70's
Prisma Pencils - darkest brown and white

Here is your shopping list :)

I also used:
Tim Holtz distress ink
May Arts Ribbon
Paper Studio Pearls
KaiserKraft Pearls

So happy you stopped by today!  I love to read you comments and squeal with excitement when you become a follower :)  Happy coloring, Rhea

Happy Birthday Challenge

It's time for another challenge at

Are you ready to play along with us?  Our challenge is...
Happy Birthday

We are kicking off our new fun filled and easy challenge and we hope you play along!  You can win a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids College Fund store.

For this challenge we have Happy Birthday.  No matter how you design it, Happy Birthday is fun and easy.

This card design was a lot of fun!  It is a floral stamp from the Penny Black Flowers Sweet Set.
I stamped the zinnia several times on a 5x5 piece of XPress It Copic Paper.  Next, using a water brush I filled it with blending solution.  With my chosen copic markers I put the colors on a piece of acetate...like a palate.  Dip the brush tip into the color and work into the image.  This gives a very light color, like a water color effect.  Loads of fun and very fast way to copic color!!!!  Once you get the hang of it...it's very easy.  Warning, it does take practice.  When I was done I simply cut the center squares out of the images and stacked with layers.

I hope you enjoyed today's design and found a little inspiration.  Happy coloring!  Hugs, Rhea

Now for your shopping list.

"How do I love thee.  Let me count the ways"
